Selection Criteria Guidelines

 

Details of the selection criteria is outlined in the Application Form (Click here).

 

Nominations must include detailed information that directly addresses all areas of the selection criteria, including clear and substantiated examples of each.

 

Nominations should provide suitable examples to demonstrate the nominees breadth and depth of skills, experience and knowledge of all areas of the selection criteria.

 

The nomination should reflect the nominees involvement in, understanding of and compliance with AUSTSWIM’s values including code of behaviour, objectives and guidelines for teaching swimming and water safety.

 

Nominations that are in contravention of AUSTSWIM Guidelines for Teaching Swimming and Water Safety &/or Code of Behaviour and Objectives will not be considered.    

 

NOMINATION SELECTION CRITERIA

 

 

(All sections must be addressed. Attach all supporting evidence to the nomination form)

 

Entrants must write a submission. The submission must answer selection criteria a, b and c, and adhere to the submission requirements above. 

 

SECTION A - PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:
In 200 words or less provide clear examples and evidence that support the applicant’s personal attributes to presenting in relation to each of the following:

 

• Presentation skills
• Communication skills
• Attire and appearance
• Positive attitude
• Commitment to AUSTSWIM

 

SECTION B - PRESENTING EFFECTIVENESS:
In 200 words or less provide clear examples and evidence that supports the applicant’s teaching effectiveness including:

 

• Preparation
• Adherence to: 
                o AUSTSWIM Presenter Code of Behaviour 
                o AUSTSWIM’s principles, philosophies and beliefs
• Safety implementation
• Supervision
• Adaptability
• Use of appropriate feedback to candidates
• Behaviour management
• Candidate feedback indicates a high level of satisfaction with courses provided by the presenter

 

 

SECTION C - PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:
In 200 words or less provide clear examples and evidence that supports the applicant’s commitment to professional development above and beyond that required for renewal of the AUSTSWIM Presenter agreement.
